How many images like this can Yahoo! Shopping regulars stomach? Smart money says, "More than you think"
CARROLLTON Internet retailer Woot has sold out to Yahoo, according to the Carrollton-based company's blog. One of the early pioneers of the "One deal a day" internet business model, it appears Woot has sold its soul to Yahoo! Shopping as of midnight, September 12th.
The new venture will be called Sellout.Woot. Sellout.Woot will offer a Woot-style daily deal that’s different from the one on Woot.com, seven days a week. The downside is that users can now only reach Sellout.Woot through Yahoo! Shopping’s front page.
For seasoned Woot users, it should be interesting to see if there are any more drastic changes to the ultra-cynical retailing site --and more importantly, whether they can co-exist with the typical soccer-mom Yahoo! Shopping crowd.
