Bliss Frozen Yogurt opens two branches in Dallas area
Bliss Yogurt, a new frozen-yogurt chainlet launched by a young Carrollton-based entrepreneur, has opened two branches in the Dallas area -- one in Lewisville, another in Cedar Hill -- with plans for more.
Owner Andy Park, who announced his new stores on DallasFood.org (damn you, DallasFood, damn you!), acknowledges that the L.A.-based Pinkberry frozen-yogurt chain gets the buzz, but says his real inspiration comes from the original frozen-yogurt chain spawned in Korea, Red Mango.
"I came to the United States when I was 9 -- I lived in Carrollton until I graduated from college and took a job in LA.," he says. "But before Pinkberry came to be what it is now, my fiancée and I were thinking about doing something like this. It’s real popular in Asia and South Korea. We took a trip there with my in-laws, and that's where we first saw Red Mango, the chain in Korea that started this."
When he went to open a store in Dallas, he looked at the obvious places -- West Village, etcetera -- but found the rent to be "crazy high." So he set out for the suburbs first (damn you, Cedar Hill!), with the ultimate goal of heading into the city. He offers two flavors at a time -- the plain, which is the tangy not-too-sweet option that trend-lovers crave -- and then a fruit flavor that he rotates, such as peach, pineapple, banana, strawberry, or blueberry.

Personally I didn't like the flavors. The place is located where you can hardly see it. I happened to drive-by (because I was going to go rent a movie) and stopped by. My first and only experience was not too nice. I went down to try it, I bought a pint and when I went down to pay the lady at the check out she tells me she doesn't accept credit card/debit even though the door had the VISA/Mastercard logos? Shouldn't there have been some type of paper posted somewhere? So, I had to drive down to my bank, get money from the ATM and go back and pay for the yogurt. I could of just left it like that, but I felt sorry for the poor girl who looked bored to death.
I would not recommend it at all.

Well, I've been this place several times and I must say the people were friendly and I've payed with my debit card almost every single time. I think the flavors are great and the fresh fruits are even greater. I would recommend this place to anybody, so if you're looking for a tasty, healthy snack, Bliss is a great place to go....
