Following a nationwide search, City Manager Charles Boswell has named Cecilia Jacobs chief communications officer, replacing Eileen Houston-Stewart, who accepted a position in the Kansas City, Mo., area.
Currently communications manager for the City of Fort Worth, Jacobs begins her new duties Sept. 17.
She joined the city in 1997 and has extensive experience in communications consultation and media relations. A former newspaper reporter, photographer, columnist and editor, Jacobs has received many awards from the Associated Press, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and several government associations for her work. She is a past president of the Fort Worth chapter of IABC.
