Southlake falls to Miami Northwestern at Ford Stadium

The Dragons 49-game winning streak came to an end last night in a hard fought, slightly sloppy matchup against 6A Florida powerhouse Miami Northwestern. In the end, the Bulls capitalized on Southlake's miscues, which included three interceptions, two fumbles and a safety, to defeat the Dragons 29-21 at Ford Stadium. Not to say the the Bulls didn't suffer from turnovers. The team had three of their own.

The game pitted two talented quarterbacks against one another. Miami Northwestern quarterback Jacory Harris threw four touchdowns, three of which connected with receiver Tommy Streeter, going 21-for-28 and 280 yards. Just to add, Streeter is 6-foot-5, 200 lbs and he runs a 4.4/4.5 forty. The ESPNU anchors only mentioned Streeter's timed forty about a million times during the game, but it deserves to be stated again. The dude is fast.

Riley Dodge stepped up to go 22-of-31 for 260 yards and two touchdowns. Next week, the Dragons and head coach Hal Wasson will look to rebound against Rockwall. It's still early in the season, but our friend Shawn Williams has some thoughts on what may be in store for the Dragons this season.
