Terrell-based American National Bank acquires Dallas National Bank
One little regional bank chain -- Terrell-based American National Bank of Texas -- is buying another -- Dallas National Bank in Turtle Creek.
The acquisition gives American National 28 branches across Dallas-Fort Worth. American National currently has branches in Collin, Dallas, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Rockwall, Tarrant and Van Zandt counties.
Dallas National Bank is owned by DNB Bancshares, which also is being acquired.
But aren't they all eventually going to be swallowed up by Comerica, Wachovia, or Bank of America? The banking thing is weird.
