DART construction in Fair Park on hold during Texas State Fair
DALLAS DART is planning to halt construction on the DART Green line during the 24-day run of the State Fair. This is the construction around the "front" of Fair Park that runs along Parry/Exposition and around to Cullum, says DART spokesman Morgan Lyons; the First Avenue entrance remains open.
"We'll put down a walkway at the Parry location so folks can walk in the front gate just like they always do," Lyons says. "That's where we'll have one of our two Fair Park stations. The other will be the MLK Station, which is on the site of the JB Jackson Transit Center off the west side of Cullum."
You can also park in the Fair's big lot off Haskell on the east side of the Fair Park and ride the "Big Tex Express" which connects that parking lot with the fair grounds.
DART did this last year for the Fair and during the Cotton Bowl, too.
