Tarrant County-based Worthington National Bank honored by American Bankers Association

— Tarrant County-based Worthington National Bank was selected as a finalist for the 2007 American Bankers Association Financial Marketing Awards in two categories in the under $500M market. The categories were New Brand Campaign and Humor Marketing, and both campaigns were conceptualized and designed by the bank’s marketing firm, JODesign in Fort Worth.

The New Brand Campaign entry began with Worthington National Bank launching its third location in January, 2006 at the historic Burk Burnett building in downtown Fort Worth, a space the bank restored to its original early-1900s bank design. To promote its grand opening, Worthington National decided to reinvent its historic western theme with a new logo, a new look for its marketing collateral and a fresh advertising campaign that included a partnership with M.L. Leddy’s Boots and utilized live horses and a “small town banking” concept.

Worthington National Bank’s Humor Marketing finalist entry was a three-series print ad campaign, which utilized creative humor and resulted in significant bottom-line results for the bank with relatively little placement.

“We are honored to have been chosen as a finalist in this prestigious national competition,” said Greg Morse, chief executive officer of Worthington National Bank. "However, we would not have been considered for this award without our creative, hard-working marketing and PR firm, JODesign."
