UTA’s fast-track program yields two degrees in five years
ARLINGTON – A new degree program is being offered to UT Arlington engineering students that allow them to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years.
The fast-track program enables outstanding senior undergraduate students to satisfy degree requirements leading to a master’s degree in materials science and engineering while completing their studies for a bachelor’s degree in physics.
The program is designed to encourage the most gifted students – who are highly sought after by other institutions – to complete advanced degrees at UT Arlington.
Besides the time savings, scholarships also are available for fast-track students.
Another goal of the program is to attract well-qualified international students who have a three-year undergraduate physics degree an opportunity to enter the fast-track program as transfers.
The program allows students to use up to 21 hours to satisfy both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.
