Southlake man arrested in DC attack based on Facebook evidence
According to CNN, Phillip Anderton Cooney of Southlake was arrested in connection with an assault at Georgetown University. He allegedly attacked a victim while shouting homophobic insults, causing cuts, bruises and a broken thumb.
The victim browsed Facebook and identified Cooley as his assailant. Because of the homophobic language, the assault is being prosecuted as a more serious hate crime with higher penalties.
Unsurprisingly, Cooney's profile appears to have been pulled from Facebook.
