The Mustangs folded in the face of UTEP's unstoppable running attack

— The Southern Methodist University Mustangs blew a 14-point fourth quarter lead to lose 48-45 in OT to the University of Texas El Paso Saturday. Leading 42-28 with 14 minutes left, the Mustangs gave up two late touchdowns to UTEP, including one in the dying seconds of the game that sent the game into OT.

While the Mustangs scored on their alloted drive in overtime, it was just a field goal, while UTEP scored yet another rushing touchdown to ice the game and send the Mustangs to 1-4 on the season.

Mustangs quarterback Justin Willis had a good day statistically, going 15-for-27 for 258 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Willis also had ten carries for 48 yards.

Running back James Mapps also had a good day, carrying 26 times for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
