Arkansas 66, UNT 7
The University of Texas --which has several excellent academic programs-- forgot to show up to their scheduled football game Saturday night, allowing the Arkansas Razorbacks to run roughshod over them to the tune of a 66-7 squeaker. UNT is now 0-4 in new celebrity head coach Todd Dodge's first season.
The vaunted passing attack that has at least kept previous UNT games interesting was nowhere to be found Saturday, as quarterbacks Meager and Vizza combined to go 14-for-37 for 173 yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns.
The true story of the game, however, was the unbridled dominance shown by the Razorbacks' rushing attack. As a team, Arkansas ran 53 times for 436 yards and five touchdowns, an 8.2 yards per carry average. Three Razorback running backs had 100+ yards, with most of the real damage done before the half, at which point Arkansas was leading 45-7.
