Seattle Mariners 5, Texas Rangers 1
Texas drops its fifth straight road game.
The Texas Rangers appear content to play out the irrelevant portion of the last weekend of the season, dropping their fifth straight road game 5-1 Saturday in Seattle. Seattle pitcher and known Ranger-killer Miguel Batista pitched eight strong innings, giving up just one run and three hits.
Rangers starter Kevin Millwood pitched a decent game, giving up five runs and eleven hits in seven innings. The only Rangers run came early, when Nelson Cruz doubled in Brad Wilkerson in the top of the second.
