UPDATED: CBS 11 dodges takes bullet in network-wide layoffs

CBS announced major layoffs today in the wake of poor quarterly results.

While network-owned stations in Boston, Chicago and San Francisco were hit especially hard, our local affiliate appears not to have been spared.

On-air talent Robert Riggs, Kaushal Patel, Maria Arita and veteran producer John Sparks all got pink slips. Iola Johnson and her show Positively Texas were taken off Channel 21.

My original flub on this was an asinine mistake. Can't believe I didn't check Uncle Barky before posting. My excuse is that I'm traveling and therefore distracted, but ugh. Do as I say and not as I do...
