Savor Dallas 2008 saw 4,000 attendees

— Savor Dallas 2008, which took place on March 7 and 8, drew approximately 4,000 guests -- people from throughout Texas, 14 other states, and Mexico who enjoyed a weekend of fine wine and food at venues throughout downtown Dallas.

Nearly 1,000 braved the cold weather and attended the Friday night Arts District Wine Stroll and the Victory Park Wine and Food Celebration. Approximately 300 attended the Saturday tasting seminars at Victory Park on Saturday. More than 200 wine lovers experienced the serene gardens of Nasher Sculpture Center during the Reserve Tasting early Saturday evening.

About 2,500 people made the rounds at the International Grand Tasting at the Westin City Center Dallas and the Plaza of the Americas Saturday evening. Covering three levels, with more than 500 varieties of fine wine and spirits, and signature dishes from more than 60 Metroplex chefs, there was something to please every palate.

"We were very pleased with the Westin City Center and Plaza of the Americas location for the 2008 Savor Dallas International Grand Tasting, and our guests provided many words of praise for their experience there as well," said founders Vicki Briley-White and Jim White. "Victory Park, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Meyerson Symphony Center were also great venues for our Friday night and Saturday events."

All proceeds from the Savor Dallas Silent auction will benefit the North Texas Food Bank. A donation by Savor Dallas will also be made to the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association Culinary Scholarship Fund and the Arts Magnet Building Campaign for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

The Fifth Annual Savor Dallas will be held March 6 and 7, 2009.
