UPDATED: Denton’s tree preservation code meetings continue for further public input

The final tree meeting originally scheduled for May 15 has been postponed

Tree Preservation Code Meeting

  • When: Thursday, April 3, 2008, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Where: Central Fire Station (Denton), 332 East Hickory Street, Denton
  • Cost: Free
  • Age limit: All ages

— A third public meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Central Fire Station, 332 East Hickory, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to receive additional public input on the preliminary report by Charles Burditt Consultants, prior to preparing the first draft of proposed Tree Preservation Code amendments.

The Burditt preliminary report is posted on the Planning webpage at http://www.cityofdenton.com/pages/planning.cfm. The Public is also encouraged to email Tree Preservation Code related comments and suggestions to denton@burditt.com.

A fourth public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Central Fire Station, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Prior to the meeting, the preliminary draft of the proposed Tree Code amendments will be posted on the Planning website.

UPDATE: The Tree Preservation Code public meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Central Fire Station has been canceled. A new meeting date will be rescheduled and posted on the City website soon.

Oh dear god...

When did all this tree-hugging come about? Don't get me wrong, I love me some trees...but let's not allow this to get out of hand. After all, we don't take kindly to turrrists 'round hurr.
