Crowley wants more gas wells, less graffiti
Attention all Crowley-ites (Crowleyans?): Tonight's city council meeting might be of some interest if you like, oh, clean air or the civil rights of your children not to be trampled upon.
The first and second items on the agenda (okay, technically the second and third after they go through the motions of recounting the minutes from the last meeting) have to do with the approval (or continued approval) of gas well permits around the city, cryptically referred to as "Laguna Point 5-H & 9H" and, ominously, "Rambo 2-H and 3-H." Here's hoping those wells aren't as harmful as this.
Even more alarming is a proposed ordinance that would make it illegal for minors to even possess aerosol paint or indelible markers. "Sorry, Johnny, you know that cool art project you wanted to do for school? Well, that's illegal now." The ordinance is being proposed ostensibly to prevent kids from putting up graffiti, but banning them from even possessing the tools of graffiti seems a mite, shall we say, overbearing.
On a lighter note, the council will vote on whether to remove concrete and asphalt from existing parking lots, which, to me, would make it kind of hard to park, but what do I know?
