Dallas and Fort Worth dodge the hailstone
... but same can't be said of of parts of Wise, Denton and Collin Counties.
It's a familiar story with seasonal storms in North Texas: some folks get the softball-sized hailstones while others get the shaft (as in little or no beneficial Spring rain out of the deal).
Overnight and early Friday morning (April 4) it turned out to be residents of Wise, Denton and Collin Counties who got the brunt of the heavy weather - resulting in leaves on the ground and knocked down trees - while folks living in Fort Worth and Dallas garnered only about .30 and .40 inches of rain out of the event, respectively (measured at Meacham and Love Fields) - hardly enough to water the emerging St. Augustine.
Weather for the remainder of the weekend is expected to be mild and - to use my favorite Rebecca Millerism - "rain free."

seriously, not everybody got that onslaught last night? i've never seen hail so intense. buckets of it poured down on east plano with a roar that i would cornily describe as breathtaking. the stuff was PILED UP on my sidewalk (at 3 a.m., may i say) - layers covering the sidewalk so that it looked like it was paved with rocks. totally wild

Haha, I'm in north Dallas and nothing woke me up. Car doesn't look like the surface of a golf ball, so I guess all is well.

There was no hail in Colleyville, unless I am just a really heavy sleeper.

No hail out here in North Richland Hills. Plano deserves to be pelted.

Rebecca Miller has been fired from Channel 5. Too bad, my fishing guide at Lake Tawakoni used to ask his buddy in a Billy Bob Thornton voice..."hey..did you see what Rebecca was wearing this morning?" I would love to know why she was let go. The rumor is there was a strong run in with a low front against the jet stream.

Didn't see any hail west of 75 in Plano, but I think the east side does deserve a good pelting once in a while.
