Fort Worth’s Heritage Trails downtown walking tour to highlight history
Mayor Mike Moncrief will dedicate 19 bronze sidewalk markers on Monday, April 7.
Fort Worth will dedicate 19 bronze sidewalk markers in a series called Heritage Trails, a walking tour through downtown Fort Worth depicting significant events that shaped the history of Cowtown, on Monday, April 7.
Heritage Trails markers are permanently installed 4-ft. poles topped with bronze plaques bearing a signature cubistic longhorn, a sepia-toned screened illustration and a brief narrative. Most will be installed along Main Street in the sidewalk planters.
Mayor Mike Moncrief will unveil the information kiosk at the corner of Main St. and 2nd St., near the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. The information kiosk will contain a colorful map of Heritage Trails marker locations, a wayfinding map, and a map of Sundance Square activities. Chamber membership luncheon will review project history, recognize task force members and funders, and celebrate the completion of a milestone project for downtown.
The ceremony will begin with a luncheon at noon, followed by the dedication of the kiosk at approximately 1:15 p.m.
