DALLAS After keeping audiences waiting 45 minutes at NorthPark, it seemed Charlize Theron was phoning in her very brief "Star Award" acceptance speech before skipping a screening of her (depressing, weak) new feature Battle in Seattle. But never fear -- the always-optimistic Polyphonic Spree turned the beat around with their closing night set at House of Blues. Song selections ranged from Wings' "Live and Let Die" (from the James Bond movie of the same name) to an updated version of Tripping Daisy's apt "About the Movies," featuring the potential future AFI Dallas tagline, "That's the way we watch the movies / In some silly way life begins to change."
