AFI Dallas announces 2008 award winners

Organizers of the second annual AFI Dallas International Film Festival have announced the winners in their competitive categories. These include:

Honorable Mention: Bad Habits, dir. Simón Bross (Mexico)

Target Ten Documentary Feature: Iron Ladies of Liberia, dir. Daniel Junge (USA)

Current Engergy Earth Friendly: Fields of Fuel, dir. Josh Tickell

MPS Studios Texas: Cook County, dir. David Pomes

Honorable Mention: Ciao, dir. Yen Tan (USA)

The AFI Dallas narrative feature jury members included Steven Sawalich (whose film, The Music Within, premiered on the opening night of the inaugural AFI Dallas International Film Festival last year); Elvis Mitchell (former NY Times film critic and producer of The Black List); and Trevor Goth (former Senior Programmer at Sundance, then Dir. of Programming at Cinevegas).
