Baltimore Orioles 8, Texas Rangers 1
ARLINGTON — The Texas Rangers opened their new season at the Ballpark with a disappointing loss, the sixth straight victim for the surging Orioles in a 8-1 loss. The 6-1 Orioles have now won 6 in a row, matching their highest win streak of all of last season, while the Rangers dropped to 3-4.

The Rangers failed to make Walker proud
The Rangers were dominated by Orioles starter Brian Burres, who gave up just a single run over six innings. His Texas counterpart, Jason Jennings, had his second straight sub-mediocre outing for the Rangers, going four and two-thirds innings and giving up seven hits and four runs. Jennings walked four and struck out just one.
The Rangers bullpen didn't fare much better, giving up four runs, two of them earned, in the remaining four and a third innings.
On offense, if it could be referred to as such, the only run came in the bottom of the seventh when, down 6-0, Ian Kinsler singled in David Murphy for the Rangers' only score. Other than a double by Gerald Laird, the Rangers amassed no other extra base hits, managed just two walks and stuck out nine times.
