Rockwall County Precinct 3 commissioner runoff pits former Heath mayor against police detective
The April 8th Republican primary runoff election between former Heath mayor Dennis Bailey and Rockwall police detective Randy Puckett will in all likelihood decide who takes office as Rockwall County Commissioner for Precinct 3, because the Democrats have no candidate set to oppose the Republican nominee.
Both Bailey (who garnered 46% of the initial vote) and Puckett (who managed 31%) ran on platforms promising road improvements and spending control; according to Puckett, he's the "working man's candidate," as opposed to Mr. Bailey, who he refers to as "an administrator." At the same time, Mr. Bailey emphasizes the importance of his existing relationships with local and state elected officials.
Polls are open today (April 8) until 7 p.m.
