Whole Foods Market will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for getting lots of local news outlets to pile all over its transparently promotional (but very visual!) event this Saturday April 12 at 2 p.m., wherein it will crack open wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. The official mission is "an attempt to raise recognition of what this spectacular cheese has to offer" (although, truthfully, does anyone not already know about this most common of cheeses?).
Breaking into a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano requires five traditional tools from Italy and several cheese experts. Whole Foods Market cheesemongers will demonstrate the ancient art at all six area stores (Preston Forest, Lower Greenville, Lemmon & Lomo Alto, Coit & Belt Line in Richardson, Preston & Park in Plano, Coit & Belt Line in Richardson, and 30/Lamar in Arlington).
But here's the key info: Parmigiano Reggiano samples, wine pairings, and recipe ideas will also be offered.
Is this a good time to mention that Whole Foods charges what-some-might-say-is-an-exorbitant $17.99 per pound for its Parmesan as does the always-overpriced Central Market, while Jimmy's Food Store sells it for a mere $9.99 per pound? (This would be a good time to mention the low prices charged by World Delicacies, except that their number is temporarily disconnected, which cannot be good news.)
If you can't be bothered, here's a video showing the process.

Are you sure about Jimmy's pricing? I suspect that, although it may be "parmesan", it isn't the coveted import Parmigiano Reggiano that is generally very pricey where ever it is available.
