"Taste of the NFL: The Ultimate Dallas Cowboys Tailgate Party" is back for the fourth year on Sunday, April 13. Hosted by Cowboys Pro Bowl Linebacker DeMarcus Ware, Defensive End Marcus Spears, and Abacus and Jasper's Executive Chef/Proprietor (and Iron Chef America winner) Kent Rathbun, this high-profile event brings together the Dallas Cowboys and the North Texas Food Bank for the best off-season tailgate party ever. Joining Ware, Spears, and Rathbun this year are host-chairs Preston Pearson – a five-time Super Bowl player and former Cowboy – and Janie Tilford.
Twenty-five chefs from Dallas will transform the classic tailgate party into a party with a purpose by offering samplings for food and wine lovers alike. This popular event, which attracted approximately 800 party-goers last year, will include Dallas Cowboys players, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Desperados Dancers, a silent auction worth more than $75,000, raffle prizes, and live music by Ice House, with VIP Reception entertainment provided by the Jazz Combo from Booker T. Washington High School.
The North Texas Food Bank will receive 100 percent of the proceeds and every dollar donated will provide five meals to hungry North Texans. Last year’s event provided more than 500,000 meals for the hungry.
