Photo: One Year of photographing the Dallas Cowboys Stadium

9

Construction of the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington began in May of 2006 and is estimated to be completed in the fall of 2009. For one year, beginning in April of 2007, I have photographed the stadium's construction once a week. Below is a video of the construction's progression of the north and northwest side of the stadium.

Features of the new stadium include approximately 80,000 to 100,000 seats, a retractable roof, arches spanning the length of the stadium, an exterior wall with an 86-foot high glass curtain-wall surface, and video screens on each side of the stadium.

To check out the computer generated graphics of the layout and interior click here. And stay tuned for next week's view of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

John Meyer, says:

Laura, that is super cool. Reminds me of <a href="http://www.koyaanisqatsi.com/films/koyaanisqatsi.php"><i>Koyaanisqatsi</i></a>.

Congratulations on a year's worth of effort ending up as a neat time-lapse documentary record.

John, Koyaanisqatsi, wow that's a memory...you had to see that on the big screen with the music screaming around you!

John Meyer, says:

Indeed I did, Gwen. And I'd just had a (quite unaccustomed) shot of espresso from the bar prior to going into the theater. Imagine, if you will, my amped-up metabolism in conjunction with the accelerated time signature of those filmed events. An unforgettable experience.

Chad Jones, says:

Erin Rice just called me crying, furiously bawling her head off, saying "<em>why don't they believe it's me, Chad? WHY DON'T THEY BELIEVE IT WAS ME!? I DON'T THINK I CAN CARRY ON</em>."

Look what you're all doing to her.

I don't know what to tell them, Erin. I just don't know anymore. We can only hope one day everyone will open their minds <a href="http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2008/apr/13/cowboys-still-unsure-which-corporations-name-slap-/#c24321">to the truth</a>.

Dear Chad's soon-to-be (if-not-already) ex g/f,

I'll make myself available if you need someone to console with in these troubled times.

Cordially,

What are you implying, Mr. Doyle?

Scott Doyle, says:

Hey now, I saw that pic before you cropped it - very incriminating, Ms. Rice!

And I'm just trying to be a nice guy who calls 'em like he sees 'em. Where's the harm, I ask?
