DALLAS Velma Miller, 76, was found dead in her bathtub early Monday morning by firefighters who were responding to a fire at her house in the 2900 block of Bardwell Avenue.
The firefighters had a hard time getting inside because the house had burglar bars. It also had no electricity, so they don't know the cause yet.
A spokesperson with the fire department said that a lot of older people mistakenly believe that they can survive a fire by going into the bathtub and turning on the water.
