this headline and blurb spin the story in a completely misleading way.

Thank you for your observation and comments. And yes, it seems that the difficulties of running as a write-in candidate have as much, if not more, to do with Hines' withdrawal from the race. Please let us know if you have more information on this topic.

Trey Kazee says:
i don't have first hand knowledge, but was commenting on the fact that your headline and post clearly indicate a causality that the candidate apparently denies.
in addition, your post leaves the subtle impression that the candidate is also withdrawing from his hope "to become the first African American Mayor of Mansfield." This notion, however, is clearly refuted by his statement that "It's not quitting; it's repositioning.... I'm getting my footing. When I come back, I'm coming back stronger than ever."
i'm accustomed to the snarky nature of pegnews, but this just seemed inaccurate, and perhaps a way of sensationalizing the story. don't we get enough of that from the nightly news?
in any case, best regards.

hello? anyone going to fix this? at other papers in town reporting is done before publication. here trey points out assumptions presented as fact and gets "please let us know if you have more information on this topic." arrogant arrogant arrogant. would someone in the "news"room pick up a damn phone before reporting fiction? keep making fun of traditional media if you must, but printing articles that would not pass fact check at a high school newspaper legitimizes skepticism of new media.

I <a href="http://www.pegasusnews.com/blogs/pegasusnewsblog/2008/apr/15/customerservice/#c24387"> had a feeling</a> you're being pissy about some competition.
So, I must ask: what media do you work for, djkeith? And do they insist on using such basic punctuation as capitalization?
