- The Bath House Cultural Center is having a little reception for this weekend's Spring Art Mart, which is also a part of Saturday's DADA Spring Gallery Walk.
- Fort Worth's Main Street Arts Festival began Thursday and continues Friday at 11 a.m. I suggest knocking off work early and checking it out, especially since it's FREE. Yes, FREE (in case you misread it the first time).
- Reflection Fine Art continues on with their Friday Night Gallery Series if you're going to be in Uptown Friday evening.
- The DMA is also staying open until midnight for their once-a-month Late Nights at the Museum program.
- (DADA!) Thornwood Gallery is opening a show for the father of "Naturalismo," Luis Sottil.
Saturday:
- For starters, Saturday is the DADA 2008 Spring Gallery Walk. All of their galleries and art spaces should have some sort of event going on between 2 pm and 8 pm. Some of the more specific openings and events are listed below (events in conjunction with the walk will be noted with "DADA!" in parntheses). Download the map to plan out your walk. The Dallas Arts District and the Uptown area will be the best places to actually park and walk between the galleries.
- The Main Street Arts Festival continues....
- If your looking for a little day trip, Ennis is having their annual Bluebonnet Festival, complete with arts and crafts, food, music and trails you can walk to view some bluebonnets.
- (DADA!) The MAC is hosting two events back to back, How to Look at Art: Art 101 and an Art Chat and Chew. Space is limited at both functions, so call ASAP to see if there are seats left.
- (DADA!) The Irving Arts Center is hosting a Gallery Talk, featuring Connie Jordan. Re-paint Your Life: Making a Living in Art.
- Barry Whistler is having an opening reception for native Texan and internationally renowned artist Danny Williams.
- Justin Hunt is opening his first show on Dragon street, "Voyeuristic Tones," at the new Cameron Gallery. While not officially part of the DADA Gallery Walk, you'll be down there anyway and they will have wine and live music.
- There is a gallery talk at Conduit by Vincent Falsetta investigating abstract gesture, process, and expression.
- (DADA!) Norwood Flynn Gallery is having an opening reception for Melissa Auberty, and in the evening they are hosting the Edith Baker Art Scholarship Winner Show and Reception.
- (DADA!) The Edith Baker Art Scholarship Party will be Saturday after the gallery walk festivities should be wrapped up at the Gables Villa Rosa.
