Kennedale High School Student Council hosting candidate forum April 22

The forum takes place at the Kennedale High School Auditorium.

KENNEDALE — The Kennedale High School Student Council is hosting an open forum for the 2008 KISD School Board Candidates on Tuesday April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kennedale High School Auditorium.

The election is May 10. The two candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to the board. Candidates include incumbent Lori Glovier, software engineer Greg Mahnesmith, 49, power company crew foreman Eddie Patterson, and homemaker Romona Smith.

The FWST does a survey of the four candidates on how they feel about a proposed 13-cent tax increase in Kennedale, to help fund salary increases for teachers. Three out of four candidates are in favor, with only Greg Mahnesmith dissenting, saying that the town doesn't have the business base to support it.
