Democratic group holding forum for Grapevine City Council candidates on April 23

— The public is invited to attend the Grapevine City Council Candidate Forum hosted by the Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake Democrats on Wednesday, April 23 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Stacy’s Furniture Community Room, 3rd floor, 1900 South Main Street, Grapevine.

Three of the four candidates vying for Place 5 will attend. Chris Coy, Becky St. John, and Traci Wilkinson, all running for the open seat, will speak about their vision for Grapevine and answer voters’ questions. Jerry Lee Phillips, Democratic candidate for County Commissioner Precinct 3, will moderate.

This year’s forum will follow the success of the club’s 2007 forum, in which more than 130 voters packed the community room.

"Residents were given the opportunity to meet face to face, listen to, ask questions of, and compare all six city council candidates in one, well organized, entertaining evening," praised Rob Undersander, a 2007 Grapevine City Council candidate. "Likewise, it gave those running for office a fair, public forum in which to get their message to more voters. We need to have these every year!"

The Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake Democrats are active in community service, campaign volunteering, fund raising, and social activities. This nonpartisan forum is an effort to promote greater awareness of candidate positions, regardless of their party affiliation. Independents, Republicans and non-affiliated citizens are invited and welcome.
