UPDATED: Dallas considering new name for Industrial Boulevard

3

It seems Industrial isn't very Trinity Rivery so Dallas leaders are looking to change the name.

On Tuesday, May 6th, the Trinity River committee will meet to discuss plans for renaming the boulevard. They'll take suggestions from residents until the end of April, then choose three front runners to be put up for e-Vote.

UPDATE: Names being thrown around lately include Stanley Marcus, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Bernice Johnson and César Chávez — the former three being Dallas-area figures.

On Tuesday Dallas residents can vote online, by mail or by phone for their choice among those three.

Stevie Ray Vaughn Blvd was not included in the final list, I am starting a one woman crusade to get it added. I figure if we are going to waste tax dollars getting new signs, not to mention the cost of every business on Industrial to change stationary etc, we should at least change it to the name of someone who should have been honored by Dallas a long time ago. I have been aggressively contacting City Hall to get the Stevie Ray Vaughn option put back on the ballot, and have started a petition. If you would like to add your name to the list please contact me at Lettheairwaves@Gmail.com
