Nasher Sculpture Center announces new summer programs

The Nasher Sculpture Center has announced the launch of "Summer N’ the Center," a new campaign for the summer months featuring a lineup of special events and activities for people of all ages and interests. The series will include all-new programs such as Friday Night Films, Thursday Nights Free, and Lunch Break at the Nasher, as well as established favorites with new offerings including Saturday Night in the City, Target First Saturdays, NasherSalon, and Mother’s and Father’s Day at the Nasher.

During the months of June and July, the museum will be free from 5-9 pm. Yep, that's right, every Thursday evening. Bring a blanket for the lawn and you can purchase a gourmet picnic from Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck for a relaxing evening in the Garden complete with live, acoustical guitar performances every Thursday evening. It's also the ideal time to take advantage of sunsets in James Turrell’s skyspace, Tending, (Blue). Also during June and July, you can lunch at the Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck during the week and enjoy free admission to the Nasher Sculpture Center Tuesdays - Fridays from 11 am - 1 pm.

On Friday nights starting June 13, the Nasher Sculpture Center will be showing movies. Admission is $10 adults., $7 seniors, $5 students with ID. Members and Children 12 and under are always free.

Movie Lineup:

  • June 13 – The Wizard of Oz (Free for City Arts Weekend)
  • June 20 – E.T.: Extra Terrestrial
  • June 27 – North By Northwest
  • July 4 – Field of Dreams
  • July 11 – Grease
  • July 18 - Big

In addition to the new summer programs, the Nasher Sculpture Center will continue with their regularly scheduled programs, including Target Saturdays, their lecture series and Saturday Night in the City.
