Mixing social networking with philanthropy, Valley View Center is joining its 65 sister shopping centers across the country to create more than 30,000 wellness bags for women cancer patients nationwide in a single-day “Step Out Step Up” event.
Women volunteers are needed to help create these wellness bags, which will be distributed locally to female cancer patients through Dallas and North Texas Susan G. Komen Affiliate offices just in time for Mother’s Day. The event will take place Thursday, May 8 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Valley View Center.
Step Out Step Up volunteers will feel good as they’re doing good, enjoying female camaraderie along with treats and entertainment provided by Valley View Center and its many retailers. The fun includes mini-makeovers, chair massages and refreshments.
Valley View Center is hosting “Step Out Step Up” to introduce its new partnership with the Step Up Women’s Network, a national non-profit membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls. With a mission to Invest, Involve and Inspire, it differs from other organizations by rewarding members with valuable professional mentorship and social networking programs that allow them to benefit both professionally and personally.
Please call Andrea Taylor at 972-661-2939 or email her at andrea.taylor@macerich.com by May 5, 2008 to sign up to volunteer.
