Here's an idea: Why don't residents trade in their power mowers for push mowers that use no energy at all? Oh, because we're lazy Americans, that's why. We care about pollution, but not enough to use those old push reel mowers.
According to the EPA, one lawn mower emits as much pollution per hour as 11 cars. Who knew? In response to these findings, the City of Dallas is planning on starting a trade in program where residents can trade their gas mower for a 30% discount on a new electric mower (a cordless one and everything). The new program will be called "Mow Down Air Pollution."

Very nice.
Wonder if they're working on anything for commercial landscaping ops?

We have a push-me. 'Course, we only have about 120 sq ft of grass, too.

Now the guy across the street for me will have even less incentive to mow his yard. I don't think he will capitalize on the trade in, but rather I think he will "compost" his mower in his yard along with all the furniture that currently resides there.

My olde-tyme push mower looks nothing like the newer reel ones. Have you seen them? Their little training wheels in the back give it an option of setting the closeness of the cut. Here's a link: http://www.reallynatural.com/archives...
