Wine bars opening in Dallas this summer

After years of slim pickings, Mark Stuertz at the Dallas Observer reports a pair of wine bars open soon in Dallas:

  • Ari's Wine Bistro, from Amier Taherzadeh, owner of Chateau Wine Market/Bodega Bar, opening in July in the space vacated by Il Sole
  • Veritas, a wine bar and blown-glass place (really) being opened by lawyer-brothers Bradley and Brooks Anderson, going into the same Shops on Henderson complex as frozen yogurtery Natsumi and pizzeria Pulcinella

Add that to the already well-publicized Dali Wine Bar & Cellar, being opened in the Arts Plaza by former Nana maitre d' Paul Pinnell, and you get three, which is exactly how many you need to officially make a trend.

There are also a handful in Fort Worth and the mid-cities, including the Wine Loft in Southlake being opened by ex-pro-football player Rickey Dudley, Zambrano Wine Cellar which opened in Fort Worth last year, and a yet-to-be-named one coming soon to Flower Mound.

Oh, come on TGub. Mark hasn't been doing that badly ;-)

(Trivia: Mark was one of four authors on the first blog I ever wrote on, perhaps the earliest proto-prototype for PegNews.)

Jesus, ALL we need is MORE merlot-stained drunken yuppies peeing in the yards and vomiting in the recycling bins in Knox-Henderson.
