The Rangers were unable to overcome yet another mediocre start from pitcher Jason Jennings, who lasted just two innings. Jennings gave up five runs and eight hits, and struck out none. Jennings fell to 0-5 on the year with a 8.56 ERA.

The Rangers did manage to score a bit, led by Michael Young, who went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Third baseman Ramón Vázquez also went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Josh Hamilton continued his individual tear, going 2-for-5 with an RBI double. Hamilton has now knocked in 28 RBI in 27 games.
