Stone Temple Pilots announced the first half of their 65-city tour earlier this month at Harry Houdini's mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Capping the announcement, the four original members, Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Kretz, played a few songs before a posh L.A. crowd.
While a Dallas date was expected, we were unsure until now that the band would indeed make their way down to our metro. STP will play on June 29 at Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie. General ticket sales start this Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com. Meanwhile, a ticket presale starts Wednesday morning for fan club members ($45 to be in the club). All tickets for the event at $53.50.

Weiland is a total wreck and I'd be half amazed if the tour gets to Dallas. That said, I'd be down to hear some "Silvergun Superman"
