Dallas businesswoman Andrea Spencer pleads guilty to bribery in City Hall scandal
Andrea Spencer, 33, one of the 14 people indicted in October in the Dallas City Hall corruption investigation, pleaded guilty today to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery concerning a local government receiving federal benefits. Spencer faces a maximum statutory sentence of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and restitution, and is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn on August 13, 2008. Spencer allegedly gave kickbacks to former Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill.
