Lucas City Council to regulate dog barking

At the May 1 meeting, the city council council will most likely amend their current noise ordinance to include "Animals running at large or disturbing the peace."

This'll get you a nice big fine in Lucas starting tomorrow.

Watch out, Fido -- the Lucas City Council is coming to get you. At tomorrow's monthly meeting, the council will most likely amend their current noise ordinance to include "Animals running at large or disturbing the peace," a move that was probably made when someone got sick and tired of hearing their neighbor's dog bark at all hours.

Of course, Lucas' definition of a prohibited noise is "any noise which is unreasonably loud, disturbing, or unnecessary that it is offensive to the ordinary sensibilities of the inhabitants of the city." In my experience, there's no such thing as "ordinary sensibilities" -- just ask a certain former user of our site.

The rest of May 1 agenda is run-of-the-mill kind of stuff, including several people in the relatively-new neighborhood of Claremont Springs who want their homes annexed into the city. Grow, Lucas, grow!

It's about time Lucas joined the modern world and is finally doing something about dog pollution. Lousy dog owners should not be allowed to impose their animals on another. People have a right to live in their own homes and use their own properties without constant noise caused by irresponsible dog owners. Their poor pets need to be cared for properly. www.dogassault.com
