The city's ongoing search for sexier names to replace Industrial Boulevard produced a few suggestions in a meeting Tuesday night: Stanley Marcus, Stevie Ray Vaughan, César Chávez, and Eddie Bernice Johnson.
Turnout at the meeting was low: less than 50, though at least 300 business owners and land owners from Industrial Boulevard were invited, as well as, like, the general public. A third of the 50 at the meeting were city of Dallas staffers. The city has received more than 500 suggestions, 300 of which are eligible. The Trinity River committee will select three finalists at a meeting next Tuesday, and residents can vote.

Why don't we call it, "useless name change avenue". Or maybe, "how many tax dollars can we waste drive". (Last one)"What's the freakin' difference lane"

Okay, if you must, how about Robert Johnson Blvd, Sam Myers St., or Marchel Ivery Dr.?

I think it would be a riot to take the Stevie Ray Vaughan Bluesway to the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. (Past the What The Hell Frank Crowley Justice Center).
Stanley Marcus is the name that most is deserved because of his massive contribution to half a century Dallas if you dig and learn. But Dallas is so stiff and SRV Bluesway would make me SO happy! The older I get, the more thrilled I am that I saw him live in Oak Cliff at the old Bronco Bowl!

Id prefer it to be dedicated to SRV, the man started here and still has family here. Any chance of us getting a SRV statue along with this, similiar to the one on lady bird lake in Austin?
