Interview with Morgana Shaw, lead actress in Freakshow
Morgana Shaw is quite a name in the Dallas theater community for the amazing roles she has portrayed. To add to this list is Core Performancy Manufactory's current show, Freakshow, in which she is starring as a legless and armless sideshow act. Perfect time to feature her.
I start off by asking her about her start in theater and what made her settle down in Dallas to do it. I also ask about her thoughts on the Dallas theater community.
Freakshow
We speak about what attracts her to do a show, and thus, I ask what intrigued her about Freakshow. She then talks about how she got the part.
Of course, I had to ask about the challenges of playing a limbless character and how she prepared to do this. I ask what she ultimately wants the audience to walk away with after seeing the performance.
The interview ends by discussing her favorite role(s) to date, what characters she is still dying to play, and what exciting projects she has lined up for the summer, including a movie with Jim Carrey.
Freakshow runs from April 30 - May 17 at the Bath House Cultural Center, and you can click here for full event details. Purchase tickets online or by calling 214-893-3009.
