Coalition for Reformed Gas Drilling Ordinance launches website; Barnett Shale special tonight on KXAS
CREDO and the Chesapeake-sponsored special both look forward to presenting you "facts" about the Barnett Shale. Something tells me these facts are going to differ somewhat.
The Fort Worth Coalition for a Reformed Drilling Ordinance (CREDO) launched its website today. At the moment, the site is pretty bare-bones, containing information on their proposed gas drilling moratorium and the rally planned for August 7, at 11 a.m. Following the rally, depending on how long everyone rallies, will be the joint City Council and the Gas Drilling Task Force meeting.
Steve Blow reports that KXAS Channel 5 will air a one-hour special on the Barnett Shale tonight. "Unconventional: The Story of the Barnett Shale" airs at 7 p.m. According to the video preview on Channel 5's website, the special concentrates on, "A national treasure that could benefit North Texans for generations to come. Now go behind the scenes and see a side of the shale like never before. Learn the facts, the real costs, and what it means for our future." The special is presented commercial free by, who else, Chesapeake Energy.
If the special is above your head, or if you just want a primer before entering into tonight's educational experience, check out the dumbed-down, kiddie version of gas drilling.
