Cross of fire ignited outside Hurst home (for non-racist reasons)
It's that time again. The Hurst Police Department has released its weekly Crime Updates for both businesses and residences within the city. The following crimes were reported between Sunday July 20 and Saturday July 26:
Sometime on Wednesday, between 3 and 4 p.m., a 2006 Ford F150 truck parked at the NE Mall (1100 Melbourne Road) was burglarized after someone ripped of its tailgate.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, a war of ideologies ignited when someone lit a cross on fire in the front yard of a home near the 100 block of Lynn Drive. The suspect left a note, somewhat explaining their actions, that tells the resident to “dispose of treasonous colors” e.g. the Confederate flag displayed on the property.
And, continuing their trend of damnation (here and here), thieves in Hurst siphoned gas from a church van parked at 1800 Norwood Drive, sometime near 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Suspect Vehicle: Dark blue pickup, partial TX license plate/ 125J??.
