Dallas YMCA closing all pools for preventive treatment against cryptosporidiosis
COLLEYVILLE The Dallas YMCA is closing all of its pools on Thursday or Friday evening to do a precautionary treatment against cryptosporidiosis.
The Y wants to make it perfectly clear that the parasitic infection has not been confirmed as showing up in YMCA pools. But since it's showing up all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the YMCA is being cautious.
That means lots and lots of chlorination. That means that, even if your white bathing suit doesn't start out white, it'll end up that way. Dallas is hyperchlorinating all of its pools and spraygrounds weekly (following the temporary closure of two spraygrounds last weekend).
