When the Parker City Council gets together at 6 p.m. on Tues., Aug. 5 at City Hall, they will bandy about such notions as:

Parker's new server? (Not bloody likely.)

Parker's new server? (Not bloody likely.)

* the installation of a new server (presumably the computer-oriented sort, rather than some Jeeves-like character in spats)

* Moss Ridge drainage issues

* liaison protocols for engineering and architects

* the possibility of approving a stipend to provide a cell phone for the mayor

* creation of a Parker Neighborhood Council

* approval of scheduling for public hearings on a tax rate increase

* approval of scheduling for public notices on a budget hearing

* approval of a 3-day breast cancer awareness walk

* consideration of a revised proposal for annexation of McCreary Road right of way

*******

In addition to Tuesday's city council meeting, there will be a Wed. (Aug. 6) meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission at 7:30 p.m. (also in City Hall). This particular confab is designed to cover such issues as:

* discussion and possible action on the 2009 budget

* Al Johnson's presentation on "likes/dislikes" in re. to the Parker Preserve Long Range Plan

* Bob Heath's fund raiser options

There will also be an updates on both Parks & Recreation and Trails (from Bill Bailey); subcommittee reports, including discussion and action on the Scouts Committee (courtesy Len Nadalo); and an expenditure update.

*******

Residents are also being reminded about the Volunteer Fire Dept.'s annual fundraiser/barbecue coming up at South Fork Ranch on Sat., Sept. 13 (from 5 - 9 p.m.). If you'd like to buy a discounted pre-event ticket or perhaps donate an item for the auction and/or raffle, here's a .pdf form for you to complete and return to event chair Eleanor Evans.
