Fort Worth’s Jubilee Theatre to hold auditions for …Colored Girls…
Jubilee Theatre will hold auditions for seven female players to star in their upcoming production of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, a play by Ntozake Shange.
The open auditions are scheduled for Saturday, August 16 from 1-5 p.m. and Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m. Those trying out should come prepared with a one- to two-minute monologue, and - it says here - "be prepared to move." All prospective actors should bring headshots (marked with name and contact information) and resumes. You can mail these items in advance to the attention of Tyrone King, 506 Main St., Fort Worth, TX 76102 - but note that you will still need to bring another copy of each to the audition.
For those getting parts, rehearsals begin on Aug. 26.
Original Broadway cast member Lorey Hayes will direct the Jubilee Theatre production, which will preview Sept. 26-28 and Oct. 2 before opening on Oct. 3; the show runs through Oct. 26, with performances on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. evenings at 8 p.m., with Sun. matinées at 3 p.m.
