Texas Rangers 8, New York Yankees 6

Texas wins its second in a row against the hated Yankees.

— The Texas Rangers once again beat the most expensive team in professional sports Tuesday night, defeating the New York Yankees 8-6 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The win was the fourth in five games against the Yankees this season, and moved Texas to 60-54 on the season.

The Rangers had built up an 8-2 lead heading into the eighth, when troubled closer C.J. Wilson gave up a grand slam to Ranger-killer Richie Sexson. Wilson was removed from the game and put on the DL due to bone spurs, and Eddie Guardado closed out the game with his third save of the season. The Yankees' final two outs were a double play by former Ranger Alex Rodriguez.

Rangers rookie starter Matt Harrison got the win, pitching six-plus solid innings and giving up just two runs and five hits. Harrison lowered his ERA a full point, from 7.40 to 6.46.

The Rangers relied on several big hits to get their scoring in this game, amassing eight runs, eight hits and eight walks. Rookie phenom Chris Davis with a bases-loaded double in the bottom of the seventh inning, and finished with four RBI on the night. Josh Hamilton hit a two-run, two-out shot in the first off Andy Pettite, and now has 27 home runs and 108 RBI.

Marlon Byrd also had another strong game against the Yanks, following his walk-off home run from last night with a solid 3-for-4 performance, scoring three runs.
