Crowley City Council to take land from Burleson
Burleson put up the white flag quickly when they learned Crowley wanted their land for a bank drive-thru.
At most city council meetings, you have your usual zoning requests and tax money expenditures. Not so at tonight's Crowley City Council meeting -- they're going on the offensive and taking land from the city of Burleson. According to city manager Truitt Gilbreath, a bank wanted to build a drive-thru on their property. Only problem? As it stood, that drive-thru would intrude into the Burleson city limits.
Burleson, despite having four times the population, quickly put up the white flag, ceding the land for Crowley to use as it pleased. So be proud, citizens of Crowley, and know that when you do your drive-thru banking, it'll be on the hallowed ground of Crowley, and not the grimy dirt of Burleson.
