Arlington will participate in study to make water less smelly/full o’ drugs
The City of Arlington will participate in an 18-month study to improve the quality of its drinking water. The City will partner with the Awwa Research Foundation of Denver for the project that will cost a total of $554,412. Arlington's share of the costs will be $150,000.
In the recent past, trace amounts of meprobamate, an anti-anxiety drug, and atrazine, a chemical used in herbicides, were discovered in Arlington's public water supply. It has also smelled pretty foul at one time or another.
