This week, the Addison City Council is having a joint council meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission. And when I say "joint" I mean joined, not a marijuana cigarette, in case some of you got excited. The joint meeting will start at 6 and will be a work session to discuss a Sustainability Program for Commercial Development. The meeting will be immediately followed by a regular council session. Items on the agenda include the following:
- The meeting will start with a presentation by Mike Shost from the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce. Addison is getting a plaque recognizing the city's support of the Chamber. Isn't that nice. They can hang it next to their most-restaurants-per-square-mile-in-one-city plaque.
- There will be two public hearings, the first being an approval of a Special Use Permit for a religious institution. The second public hearing will be to approve a plan for more apartments in Addison Circle.
- The council will be re-appointing John Murphy, Councilmember, City of Richardson, as the Town’s representative to the Regional Transportation Council.
- Ooh, they will be authorizing the City Manager to execute a Master Services Agreement with HNTB Corporation for the redesigning of Belt-Line Road. Guess that means I'd have to go back when they finish.
- Looks like the Town will be buying more water meters from Hersey Meter Company. Let's hope they aren't made of chocolate.
- For the final agenda item, the council will be making appointments to the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Metrocrest.
